    The Analysis of schools attainment data is a key requirement of all school's management teams regardless of the size of school. However, the vast range and types of data available does not make the task particularly easy. Raw data as provided by RaiseOnline, FFT, DCSF and other sources need to be interpreted in the context of the school and the pupils. Target setting and progress measurement are also key processes for schools not just for KS1 and KS2 but across the year groups.

    Attainment (experience) on Entry, Foundation Stage Profile (FSP), KS1 and KS2 data sets are interpreted slightly differently by RaiseOnline and FFT which adds to the difficulty of coming to sound judgments about the attainment and progress of the children.

The aim of the consultancy is not to produce more complex data sets, graphs or spreadsheets but to turn these complex issues into understandable language that can be presented to governors school staff whilst making section 1 of your SEF easier to write. Above all the consultancy will help you determine whether your children are making good progress, what progress your children are making and provide support to help determine actions where required.

    The consultancy is always bespoke. Training and data support is provided to schools through a range of methods;

    • On line data analysis and provision of training materials
    • Support for new headteachers and assessment coordinators
    • 1 to 1 or small group meetings
    • Staff meetings
    • Governors meetings

    Schools may also wish to consider clustering together to undertake appropriate training.

    Training materials and downloadable resources for data analysis are provided for schools using the service. These are available via the secure 'user area'.

    • Sample FSP progress analysis:
    • This provides a detailed analysis of the progress made by the children in the Foundation Stage

    • Key Stage 1 attainment and progress analysis
    • The analysis provides a range of measures and analyses for KS1 attainment. The analysis also includes the Foundation Stage profile for matched children

    • KS2 Attainment and progress analysis
    • The analysis provides detailed information to support the RaiseOnline analysis. The analyses are easier to interpret than Raiseonline at both cohort and pupil level.

    • Re-calculate your school's CVA
    • If you think that you CVA is wrong because all the context for your KS2 pupils have not been included then this analysis will provide you with an updated CVA.
